st. therese sacristan guild

St. Therese Sacristan Guild is a ministry to honor St. Therese, the Little Flower, by serving in humility and love, ensuring the sanctuary, sacristy, and liturgical items are prepared with reverence for the celebration of the Eucharist and other sacred rites. As a sacristan assistant, you have a special role in helping prepare the Church for Mass. This ministry is open to girls from 4th grade to seniors in high school. We ask you to be at the church to serve 45 minutes before your scheduled Mass time. You will be asked to serve one time per month. We have two retreats a year, one in spring and one in fall.

General Instruction of the Roman Missal 105 and 110

“A liturgical function is also exercised by the sacristan, who diligently arranges the liturgical books, the vestments, and other things that are necessary for the celebration of Mass. There should be harmony and diligence among all those involved in the effective preparation of each liturgical celebration in accordance with the Missal and other liturgical books, both as regards the rites and as regards the pastoral and musical aspects. However, the Priest who presides at the celebration always retains the right of arranging those things that pertain to him.”
